On Wednesday (14th December), last year's runners-up University of Galway were drawn in Group A for the 2023 Fitzgibbon Cup hurling campaign.
The Tribesmen were paired with MTU Cork and SETU Waterford, with the top two advancing to the quarter-finals.
After the draw, University of Galway manager Jeff Lynskey reflected on the draw with Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly.
ATU Galway were drawn in Group D with University of Limerick and TUS Midwest.
The opening games take place on Wednesday, January 18th, with the finals scheduled for Waterford in mid-February.

University of Galway footballers will begin the defence of their Sigerson Cup campaign against Maynooth University on Tuesday, 10th January.
They were paired together in Wednesday's draw. The University of Galway squad includes Galway captain Sean Kelly, his brothers Paul and Eoghan, Matthew Tierney and Cathal Sweeney.
ATU Galway were pitted against TU Dublin the following day; while Rob Finnerty's DCU will take on MTU Cork.
