Ireland's first-ever captain of the Women's National Team, Galway native Nora "Nono" McHugh, was recently inducted into the FAI Hall of Fame, recognising her extraordinary contributions to Irish football.
Nono becomes just the sixth woman to receive this prestigious accolade, solidifying her place as one of the great pioneers of the sport.
Nono was a trailblazer during a time when opportunities for women in football were limited.
Her leadership on and off the pitch set a new standard for women in sport and helped to lay the foundations for the thriving women’s game in Ireland today.
