Galway recorded their second victory of the Celtic Challenge Under 17 hurling tournament last weekend. The Tribesmen travelled to the Sligo Centre of Excellence at Scarden on Saturday to take on the Derry minor team and after a close encounter, they won by 5-17 to 3-13. This was a tough, hard, physical game, and by half-time, Galway held a 3-8 to 2-8 advantage. The Galway goals were scored by Gearoid Giblin (2) and Diarmuid Crossan. Galway made a number of changes in the second half with many players seeing game time and they added additional goals through substitutes Michael Bradbury and Cillian Costello. Galway had good performances from Ryan Dervan, Dylan Casserly, Michael Mullins, Gearoid Giblin, Adam Hynes and Glaisne MacReamoinn.
