National Juvenile Track and Field Championships 2025
The third and final day of the Indoor Juvenile Track and Field Championships was held in Athlone Arena last Sunday, with multiple medals gained by a strong Galway representation. Galway City Harriers won three Relay team medals, with Silver for the U17 Boys team and bronze on the double for the GCH U12 and U14 Girls squads. Craughwell AC secured another 4 medals to its haul from last weekend for a total of 11 medals over the 3 days of National competition. Darragh Kelly and Conor Penney (both pictured) led the way in the high jump with double gold in the U19 and U18 Boys events, each clearing 1.85m. Another highlight of the day’s jumping for the club was Isabel Schukat’s breakthrough onto the National podium for the first time with a fantastic 1.55m leap to win the silver medal in the U19 Girls' High Jump. The relays brought huge excitement as usual to the track with Craughwell U18 Boys racing to a fine silver medal in a straight final in a time of 1:32.69 with their quartet of Toyosi George, Sean Hoade, Cian Brady, Donnacha Lawless and sub Keelan Moorhead.
