The Record
The current 4 x 1 Mile indoor world record was set by a team from the USA exactly one month ago, 17th February, in New York. That time of 16:12.81
seconds is now the time to beat! This means the Irish athletes must run an average of 4:03 seconds to break the record. It's not an easy task as indoor running is slower than outdoor running, but the average time of this Irish team is 3:57.3.
The Team
Eoin Everard (Kilkenny) is a five-time national champion and has run a 3:58 outdoor mile.
John Travers (Dublin) is the reigning national indoor 1500m champion, two-time European Indoor finalist, and holds a PB of 3:55 for the mile.
Paul Robinson (Kildare) has an amazing PB of 3:54 for the mile. He was 4th in the European 1500m championships and has numerous race victories
to his credit.
Sean Tobin (Tipperary) is on fire in the USA this season, helping Ole Miss university to the NCAA distance medley relay title just last
weekend, and winning several prestigious races. Sean will anchor the relay team.
