Uachtarán Cumann Luthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns to speak at a fundraiser breakfast in aid of Galway LGFA

Uachtarán Cumann Luthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns, will be the guest speaker at a fundraiser breakfast in aid of Galway LGFA.

The breakfast will take place in the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa on Wednesday, April 16th and will begin at 7:30am sharp.

Jarlath Burns previously managed the Ireland women's international rules football team that defeated Australia in the 2006 Ladies' International Rules Series.
On the playing field he debuted with the Armagh senior team in 1987 and captained Armagh to an Ulster title in 1999.
Off the field, he has served as an underage manager, club chairman and secretary with his local club, Silverbridge Harps. At county level, Jarlath was Armagh's Central Council delegate from 2010 to 2015. His involvement with the GAA at national level began in 2000 when he was appointed as the first players’ representative to Central Council. Since then, he has been involved in Scór, the GAA's medical and welfare committee, the GAA 125 anniversary committee and the pitch presentations committee, and he chaired the standing committee on playing rules.
He has worked in the media as a Gaelic football analyst on the BBC and on TG4.
In February 2023, he was elected as President of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
The proceeds from this event will go to Galway LGFA.
The team were recently promoted to Division 1 of the National League and will play Cork in the Division 2 League Final on Saturday, April 12th.
This follows on from a successful year in 2024 coming up short against Kerry in the All Ireland final.
