Teams Of The 2025 Lidl National Football Leagues Revealed

THE Teams of the 2025 Lidl National Football Leagues – selected by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association’s All-Star committee – have been revealed.

In this year’s Division 2 selection, newly-crowned champions Galway are the big winners, with nine players included.

There are four players on the team from runners-up, Cork, and one each from Donegal and Westmeath.

Galway’s nine representatives are goalkeeper Dearbhla Gower, defenders Kate Geraghty (the 2025 team captain), Hannah Noone and Nicola Ward, midfielder Louise Ward (twin sister of Nicola) and forwards Olivia Divilly, Shauna Hynes, Kate Slevin and Róisín Leonard.

Cork’s four players on the team are defenders Melissa Duggan, Shauna Kelly and Rosie Corkery, along with forward ace Katie Quirke, a 2024 TG4 All-Star recipient.

Donegal captain Róisín Rodgers and Westmeath’s attacking star Anna Jones also make the cut.

Champions Kerry, who won a record 13th Division 1 title at Croke Park on April 12, lead the way on the top-flight selection, with eight players included.

Runners-up Armagh, who relinquished the title they won against Kerry in 2024, have four players selected, while Waterford’s impressive campaign has been rewarded with the inclusion of two players.

The remaining spot on the team goes to Dublin’s TG4 All-Star, Leah Caffrey.

The eight Kerry players selected are goalkeeper Mary Ellen Bolger, defenders Eilís Lynch, Aishling O’Connell and Kayleigh Cronin, midfielder and captain, Anna Galvin, and forwards Niamh Carmody, Danielle O’Leary (Player of the Match in the Lidl NFL Division 1 Final) and Síofra O’Shea, the Kingdom’s leading scorer in 2025.

The four Armagh players honoured are defenders Maeve Ferguson and Lauren McConville, and attacking pair Blaithín Mackin and Niamh Reel, who was the Orchard County’s top scorer in the competition.

Waterford finished third in the Division 1 standings and that fine form sees captain and midfielder Emma Murray earning a spot on the Team of the League, alongside free-scoring forward Kellyann Hogan.

Caffrey, O'Connell, McConville, Galvin and Carmody are the five survivors from the 2024 Division 1 Team of the League.

On the Division 3 Team of the League, champions Cavan and runners-up Wexford share the spoils with six players each included, while there are three players from Louth in the line-up.

And in Division 4, champions Antrim are best represented with seven players, followed by four from runners-up, Fermanagh.

Beaten semi-finalists Sligo and Leitrim are also acknowledged for their efforts.

Sligo have three players on the Division 4 Team of the League, with one from Leitrim, the 2024 TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate champions.

The winners will receive their awards at Croke Park on Friday, May 2.
