Team Ireland has achieved record-breaking success at the 2025 ICU World Cheerleading Championships, held in at the ESPN Wide World of Sport in Orlando, Florida, bringing home Ireland’s first-ever world medal in cheerleading and earning its highest senior team placement to date.
In a landmark result for Irish cheerleading:
Team Ireland Youth Coed Median secured a bronze medal in the youth coed median division.
This is the first time an Irish national cheer team has medalled at the ICU World Championships.
The team consisted of 18 athletes aged 12-14 from Galway and Kerry. It was coached by Fiona Collumb and Kelly Gilmore, with support from Dominika Wisniewska.
Team Ireland All Girl Elite finished 7th, the highest-ever placement for an Irish senior cheerleading team at the event.
The team consisted of 17 athletes from Galway, Killarney, Enniskillen, & Belfast.

These milestones mark a major breakthrough for the sport of cheerleading in Ireland and highlight the continued growth, talent, and determination of Irish athletes on the global stage.
The ICU World Cheerleading Championships is the premier international event for the sport, welcoming over 70 nations and thousands of athletes each year. Ireland's performance in 2025 sets a new standard and reflects the dedication of both athletes and coaches as the sport continues to grow.
