Galway swimming club captain Niamh Kennedy heads away on international duty this Thursday (9th March) when she represents Ireland at the Edinburgh International Swim.
She’ll also join Caherlistrane’s Oisin Cooke who is now based in the UK. It’s Niamh second cap after she helped Ireland finish 2nd in Luxembourg in January.

Galway Swimming Club captain Niamh Kennedy, is heading away this Thursday on international duty as she and the Ireland swim team, partake in the Edinburgh International Swim meet, this coming weekend
This will be the Salerno school girls’ second international cap as she swam in the Luxembourg Swim Meet at the end of January, where team Ireland finished second, with swimmers from 27 nations represented at the swimming event.
She will meet up with fellow County Galway swimmer, Oisin Cooke, the Caherlistrane swimmer who swam with Tuam Swimming Club but is now based in the UK for university.
The prestigious Edinburgh event will host 11 Olympic, 5 World, 7 European and 12 Commonwealth champions, including the likes of Maria Belmonte Garcia, Freya Anderson, Adam Peaty and Duncan Scott.
