Galway United's chances of SSE Airtricity League Premier Division glory ended on Friday (18th October 2024) when they went down 2-1 to St. Parick's Athletic at Richmond Park.
Two Aidan Keena goals either side of an Ed McCarthy strike for United gave Stephen Kenny's charges an eighth consecutive win, moving them up to 53 points, three ahead of Galway.
With leaders Shelbourne winning 3-1 against Waterford, they are now seven ahead of the Tribesmen with two games remaining. Derry City and Shamrock Rovers were also triumphant leaving United in fifth and making the battle for a European spot difficult.
Afterwards, Galway Bay FM's Jonathan Higgins caught up with Galway United defender Colm Horgan.
Jonathan also got the thoughts of Galway United manager John Caulfield.
Galway Bay FM's match commentary team were Jonathan Higgins and Johnny Ward.
