Galway United produced a major result in the SSE Airtricity League First Division on Friday evening (13th August) with an accomplished performance to beat leaders Shelbourne in Eamonn Deacy Park.
The result moves the Tribesmen to within seven points of their Dublin rivals as they firmly established themselves as the main challengers to the Reds.
Shane Doherty put United ahead on 12 minutes before Killian Brouder doubled their advantage five minutes after the restart.
Ruairí Keating got Galway's third two minutes from time.
