Six Galway United players will represent the Republic of Ireland in a behind closed doors friendly during the next international window in two weeks time (21st-25th February 2025).
Therese Kinnevey, Eve Dossen, Kate Thompson and Emma Doherty are with the development side, who take on the under-19s featuring Nicole Nix and new signing Ceola Bergin.

As part of the ongoing development of pathways for future international players, an Ireland Women’s Development Group will face the Ireland Women’s Under-19s in a training game in the FAI National Training Centre.
This behind-closed-doors game will provide Ireland Women’s National Team Head Coach Carla Ward, and her support staff, the opportunity to observe some of the most high potential young players available during the next international window in February.
As the Ireland Women's National Team prepares for their opening matches of the 2025 UEFA Nations League – at home to Türkiye on Friday, February 21st, and away to Slovenia on Tuesday, February 25th – the WU19s will be holding a training camp at the FAI National Training Centre, sharing the facilities with the senior team. During this time, the match against the Development Group will take place.
FAI Chief Football Officer Marc Canham said: “This is a great opportunity to explore what is possible in bridging the gap between our Under-19s and Senior Team. With our Under-19s already scheduled to have a training camp at home, it made sense to bring together players who may no longer be eligible for our underage international teams but still pushing to reach the Senior Team.
“It is important to continue to aid the development of the most high potential young Irish players and we will use this international window to provide them with the kind of high level coaching and support that we have been giving to our Girls’ Under-16s, Women’s Under-17s and Under-19s during our recent Winter Training Programme.”
