Shamrocks Fundraiser raises over €70,000 in online donations alone.

A fundraiser for community facilities in a GAA club in the county has raised over €70,000 in online donations alone.

Cortoon Shamrock’s “Dancing with the Shamrocks” saw a capacity crowd fill the Ard Ri Hotel in Tuam where twelve couples danced to raise money for the club.

Under the stewardship of Choreographer: Laura Geary, all twelve had the job of impressing the audience and the judges consisted of Derek Savage, Avril Mannion, Geraldine Corless and Pa Burke as well as a large number of the diaspora who watched the event online from all over the World.

Following all the dances from Hip Hop to the Tango, the winners were announced as Martie Gorman & James Flaherty dancing the Cha Cha to “Crazy in Love”.

Overall, funds raised from this event are now at over €90,000 with more expected to come in over the next few weeks.
