While their 2024 season isn't over, Galway's hopes of winning the Connacht or All-Ireland Minor A Football Championship ended in Tuam Stadium on Friday (17th May) when they were comprehensively beaten by Roscommon in the provincial semi-final.

Late first-half goals by Eoin Collins and Dara Curran gave the primrose and blue an interval advantage they maintained before Dean Casey got the third green flag on 51 minutes.

As a result, Mayo and Roscommon will contest the Connacht minor final and represent the west in the All-Ireland series.  But Galway will join 10 other teams, including Sligo, to compete for the Tier 2 national prize.

Galway Bay FM's Kevin Dwyer reports.

After the game, Galway manager Neil McHugh shared his thoughts with Galway Bay FM's PJ Lynch.

Galway Bay FM's match commentary team were PJ Lynch and Kevin Dwyer.

The 'Over The Line' weekend preview show with Darren Kelly broadcasts every Friday evening from 7pm on Galway Bay FM.
