No joy for Luke O’Neill in US Open Qualifier

Connemara golfer Luke O’Neill missed out on qualifying for the US Open Golf Championship at a 36-hole final qualifying event in Dallas, Texas which concluded on Monday. Luke was one of 120 players to qualify for the event, which offered 8 spots in the field at the year’s third major next month in Los Angeles. One of the qualifying spots went to Sergio Garcia, who missed the US PGA Championship last weekend, while former US Open champion Graeme McDowell narrowly missed out by a single shot.
