Mixed success for Galway Schools In Connacht PPS Senior Football/Hurling Championships

The Semi-Finalists are now known in the Connacht PPS Senior A football Championship following today’s games. Colaiste Bhaile Chlair will play St Colmans Claremorris and Summerhill College Sligo will face Ballinrobe Community School on the 1st of February.

Today, St Colmans beat St Jarlath’s College Tuam by 2-13 to 1-10. Colaiste Bhaile Chlair was beaten by Summerhill College by 3-7 to 1-11, Ballinrobe Community School beat St Joseph’s College Galway by 4-21 to 1-2 and St Geralds Castlebar beat Rice College 2-18 to 2-1.

Garbally College is through to the Connacht PPS Senior B Football Semi-Final after a 1-9 to 0-6 win over St Louis Community School Kiltimagh today at the Connacht GAA Centre. Garbally will play St Muredachs in the Semi-Final on the 1st of February.

There were good results for Holy Rosary College Mountbellew who beat Sancta Mhuire Louisburgh by 3-17 to 1-9 in the Senior C Football Championship and for Seamount College Kinvara and St Cuan’s Castleblakney in the Senior D Football Championship. Seamount beating Colaiste Phobail Achill by 5-8 to 0-2 and St Cuans winning by 3-12 to 1-6 over St Brendan’s Belmullet.

In the Senior C Hurling Championship, Clarin College Athenry had a comfortable 7-10 to 0-12 win over Roscommon CBS.

On Thursday, Dunmore Community School face Mohill Community College and St Pauls Oughterard play St Clares Manorhamilton in the Senior C Football Championship Preliminary Round.
