Loughrea Sports & Community Development Group (LSCSG) are organising a rally in Main St, Loughrea at 10am on Sunday, 29th September.
They are trying to build multi-use sports facilities on the outskirts of the town but the county council rejected the plans on the grounds it would interfere with the integrity of the neighbouring bypass.
Loughrea have a population of 6,500 in the town centre and another 3,000 in the neighbouring areas, have no playing pitch for soccer, Gaelic football or camogie.
The LCSG hope that if enough support is shown at the rally the decision might be overturned.
