The 2nd Latin Quarter White Collar Boxing Event will take place in the Ardilaun Hotel on June 11th.
This year's charity is Galway Diocesan Youth Services, who deal with issues like homelessness, education and counseling for young people in Galway. You can find out more about them on www.gdys.org.
The training begins in Black Dragon on April 18th at 6pm, and takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 for eight weeks. There are also optional classes on Saturdays.
No experience is necessary, all fitness levels are welcome (from just-off-the-couch to run-a-marathon-weekly), and all ages from 18-80 can apply (no being ageist there at all)!
This event is about raising money and awareness for Galway Diocesan Youth Services, and also about trying to get people to get active and healthy. Last years event was a huge success, and made big impacts on the lives of several of the people who took part.
Please share this far and wide; it's a really worthwhile local charity we're trying to raise funds for. We are looking for 40 fighters in total, and still have spaces open.
Last years fight was for Blood Bike West who, as a direct result of the efforts of the Latin Quarter, were able to purchase a fourth motorbike and extend their services. They did their 100th call of 2017 last week, which was a point they didn't get to until June 2016.
