Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry will target ending a 15-year wait for silverware this Sunday (3rd November) when they face Kinvara in this year's intermediate hurling final.
Last year's runners-up have only won this compeition once as an amalgamation, having beaten Meelick/Eyrecourt (1-20 to 1-16) in 2009. That being said, Tynagh were champions themselves in 1987, and Abbey-Duniry followed suit two years later.
Like their opponents, the east Galway side have a 100% record having beaten Kilbeacanty (2-27 to 0-13), Abbeyknockmoy (0-27 to 0-16) and Clarinbridge (3-28 to 0-12) to top Group 1.
They accounted for Rahoon/Newcastle (3-16 to 0-14) in the quarter-final before being pushed all the way by Carnmore (1-17 to 1-15) two weeks ago.
With the game fast approaching, Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry manager Mattie Kenny chatted to Galway Bay FM's Sean Walsh.
