Kinvara go in search of a third intermediate hurling championship on Sunday (3rd November) when they take on last year's runners-up Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry.
They beat Oranmore (1-9 to 2-0) in 1966; and also claimed the Mick Sylver Cup in 2019 against Kilconieron (1-10 to 0-12), but only stayed one season at the senior grade.
The purple and gold, like their opponents, have a 100% record this term. They beat Killimor (1-24 to 1-17), Kiltormer (4-35 to 1-11) and Turloughmore (6-23 to 2-13) on their way to toppoing Group 2.
In the quarter-final, they accounted for Sylane (1-18 to 0-10). And Galway captain Conor Whelan's goal was instrumental in them accounting for Meelick/Eyrecourt 1-23 to 1-20 in the semi-final.
Kinvara's joint managers are Michael Helebert and Anthony Burns. Leading up to the game, Mike Helebert gave his thoughts to Galway Bay FM's Sean Walsh.
We'll have a preview featuring Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry manager Mattie Kenny on Wednesday (30th October 2024).
Throw-in at Kenny Park on Sunday is 2pm and we'll have LIVE coverage here on Galway Bay FM.
