Joyce and Shefflin to stay on as Galway managers

Galway Bay FM Sport understands that both Galway Senior Football manager Padraig Joyce and Senior Hurling manager Henry Shefflin will continue in their positions for the season ahead.

Joyce has completed year one of the three-year term (agreed in 2022), while Shefflin has completed 2 years of his 3 year term. Indeed, Galway Bay Fm Sport understands that the Kilkenny man will actually extend his term in charge of Galway beyond the one year remaining on his deal. It is expected that both Managers will look at the make up their respective backroom teams.

Galway GAA will also be accepting nominations and expressions of interest for the Galway Managers’ positions for both U17 Hurling & Football and U20 Hurling & Football.

Galway Bay Fm Sport understands that some of the incumbent Managers may stand for the positions again. The closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday, August the 11th at 5pm. Incidentally, it also lies within the remit of the Galway County Board to identify potential candidates for these positions.
