Intermediate Hurling Final Preview

Tynagh Abbey Duniry and Ballinderreen meet in the Intermediate Hurling Championship County Final this Saturday at 2 pm in Duggan Park. Both sides were impressive winners in their semi-finals, with Tynagh Abbey Duniry overcoming Meelick Eyrecourt 2-19 to 0-14 and Ballinderreen defeating Sylane 2-21 to 2-10. It was a bit tighter in the quarter-finals as Tynagh Abbey Duniry had two points to spare over Carnmore when winning by 1-21 to 1-19, while Ballinderreen overcame Rahoon Newcastle by 0-16 to 0-10. Both sides were in the same group at the start of the championship, with their head-to-head meeting ending in a draw at the start of September – Tynagh Abbey Duniry 1-19 Ballinderreen 2-16. That result was enough for Tynagh Abbey Duniry to top the group and go straight to the quarter-finals, while Ballinderreen had to play a Preliminary Quarter Final against Abbeyknockmoy, which they won by 1-18 to 2-10.

Both clubs’ IHC Group 4 results:

Tynagh Abbey Duniry 3-20 Kinvara 0-14

Tynagh Abbey Duniry 3-25 An Spideal 0-10
