Golf Ireland appoint new COO

Golf Ireland are delighted to announce the process of selecting their new Chief Operations Officer has been completed with Tracy Bunyan appointed to the role.

She will be replacing Anne McCormack, who departed Golf Ireland in August to become Chief Executive Officer with Hockey Ireland.

Tracy has over 15 years’ experience in sports administration and development. She is currently the National Coaching and Games Development Operations Manager with the Gaelic Athletic Association where she is responsible for the management and development of all operational aspects of the GAA’s National Coaching and Games Development function.

She previously held other development and operational roles in the GAA, prior to which, working with Wicklow County Council, she was responsible for the setup and management of the Wicklow Local Sports Partnership.

Commenting on the announcement, Tracy Bunyan said: “I am thrilled to join the Golf Ireland team. This role presents an exciting challenge and opportunity to bring my experience from GAA to golf.

“I am eager to build on the current foundations, enhancing the growth and accessibility of golf in Ireland, especially among women and young players. It’s a privilege to be part of a sport with such a rich tradition and a bright future and I am committed to contribute to its development.”

Golf Ireland CEO, Mark Kennelly added: “Tracy Bunyan has been appointed following a highly competitive process and we are confident she will make an outstanding contribution to Golf Ireland.

“We look forward to welcoming Tracy to the Golf Ireland team and, with her considerable experience of sports development and administration, she will play a leading role in the roll out of our ambitious plans over the coming years.”
