Galway v Dublin – Leinster SHC Preview

The Galway Senior Hurlers take on Dublin in a crucial game in Parnell Park on Saturday at 7pm. After last week’s 3-20 to 2-22 win over Kilkenny, it puts Galway in a strong position.

Mícheál Donoghue’s side know going into this encounter, that as long as Kilkenny and Wexford don’t draw, Galway will progress to the All-Ireland Series regardless of what else happens. But their result against Dublin go towards their placing, i.e. getting into the Leinster Final. If Galway lose to Dublin, and Kilkenny and Wexford finish level, Galway are out.

But if they beat Dublin, then the possibility of a draw in Wexford will not affect them. They will top the group and are in the Leinster final for the fifth year in a row.

Sean Walsh spoke to Donoghue ahead of Saturday’s clash and he says they are looking forward to the challenge…

Niall Canavan caught up with Galway captain David Burke and he says they were delighted with their win over Kilkenny and now have their eyes set on Dublin…
