Ahead of the start of the new Airtricity League First Division season on February 21st, Galway United will play Sligo Rovers tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm in Solar 21 Park (formerly Milebush) in Castlebar. In what will be the first of 6 friendlies over the next 3 weeks, manager Alan Murphy and his new assistant Colin Fortune will be anxious to try out several of his new signings. Included among the new names appearing for United are Shane Duggan, Mikey Place, Dean O'Halloran, Jack O'Connor, Micheál Schlingermann, Joshua Smith, Carlton Ubaezuonu, Alberto Cabanyes, Timmo Parthoens and Timmy Molloy, while players that have extended their contracts at Eamon Deacy Park include Maurice Nugent, Donal Higgins, Jack Lynch, Stephen Christopher, Conor Barry, Marc Ludden, Joe Collins, Christopher Horgan, Killian Brouder, Conor Melody, Wilson Waweru and Cian Mulryan.
