Galway Senior Hurling Squad Hold Meeting Following Donoghue Departure

Galway Bay Fm Sport understands that the Galway Senior players met last
night (Friday) ahead of an expected meeting with the County Board on
Saturday.  The players, disappointed with the decision of Micheál Donoghue
to step down, are united in their efforts to ensure that the standards set in
team preparation will be maintained and improved upon.

Who the
actual candidates in the frame to be the new manager would be, or whether
Micheál Donoghue and his management team would consider a return, if it came to
that, is not clear at this stage. Indeed, Galway Bay Fm Sport understands that
some of the candidates that have been linked with the post in recent days may not
be going forward.

In a welcome development, Galway Bay Fm sport understands that highly regarded Strength & Conditioning Coach Lukasz Kirszenstein has extended his term with Galway and that he will work with all Galway flagship teams going forward, including the U20 and Minor panels.
