A Galway Trained dog will bid to reach the Semi-Final of the Star Sports English Greyhound Derby tonight at Towcester. Tyrur Shay, owned and trained by PJ Fahy in Glenamaddy, goes in the fourth and final quarter final tonight at 9.13 and is already being seen as one of the favourites coming off a stunning run in the second round where he broke the track record in a time of 28.72.
Ten Irish Dogs have reached the last 24 of the Derby with long time ante post favourite Clare’s Rocket and last year’s winner Jayee Jet still in contention. The first Quarter Final leaves the traps at 8.21 with the last Quarter Final at 9.13.
Should Tyrur Shay be successful this evening, the Semi-Finals take place on Saturday.
