Galway Minor Manager Kenneth Burke looking forward to championship opener

Fresh from leading his club St Thomas’ to All-Ireland club championship glory, the new Galway Minor Manager Kenneth Burke will see his U17 side start their Leinster Championship campaign away to Kilkenny on Saturday at 2 pm in Nowlan Park (Live on Galway Bay FM). Evan Kilroy (Gort), Ger Lyons (Killimor), Willie Burke (Oranmore-Maree) and Cathal Daly (St. Thomas’) make up the rest of the Galway management team. Galway are in Tier 1 alongside Kilkenny, Dublin and Wexford in the Leinster Championship. After Saturday’s game, Galway are away to Dublin on Saturday week, April 27th and away to Wexford on Saturday, May 4th as part of a double-header with Galway v Wexford in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship. The top two teams in the Tier 1 round-robin go into the Leinster Minor semi-finals, with the bottom two going into the quarter-finals against two teams that emerge from Tier 2.

The Galway Minor team to play Kilkenny will be announced at 9am on Friday morning.
