The Galway minor hurling team to play Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday has been announced. It is the same team that defeated Dublin in their quarter-final game two weeks ago. This will be Galway’s seventh game in the minor championship of 2024- they have won four of their six games thus far, recording victories over Dublin (twice), Wexford and Waterford while they were beaten on two occasions by Kilkenny. Galway’s top scorers are Brian Callanan (4-33), Cillian Roche (4-12) and Ciaran Leen (1-16). Galway are captained by Cathal Maloney, who along with Dara Burke and Jonah Donnellan, has impressed in Galway’s defence.
Their opponents Tipperary beat Clare in the Munster final. This is their sixth championship game. They have won four of their games with their defeat coming against Clare in the Munster round-robin series. Their top marksmen include Eoghan Doughan, Cillian Minogue and Stefan Tobin while centre-forward Euan Murray is highly rated.
The game throws in at 2 pm on Saturday from the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick and is live on Galway Bay FM.
