Galway and Mayo County Boards have both been hit with proposed fines of €4000 following their heated National League game last Sunday in Pearse Stadium. The fines were imposed following a melee involving over 20 players during the closing minutes of a game Galway won by 5 points. Mayo selector Tony McEntee has also been hit with an eight-week ban for his part in the incident which will see him confined to the stand for the rest of the league. Both counties will decide today whether or not to appeal their respective fines. Cillian O’Connor has also received a one-match ban following his injury-time red card for a high elbow on Eoghan Kerin.
