One of the true legends of Galway hurling, Tim Sweeney of Fohenagh, has died aged 88. Tim played for Galway in the All Ireland finals of 1955 and 1958 and captained the Tribesmen to their only victory in the Munster Championship over Clare in 1961. He won back to back county championships with Fohenagh in 1959 and 1960.
