The Galway hurlers will contest the Walsh Cup final for the seventh time on Saturday at 4pm in Portlaoise when they take on Wexford. Galway entered the competition for the first time in 2009 when they lost to Kilkenny after extra time, but won the title the following year for the first time with a 7 point win over Dublin in Parnell Park. In the previous six finals, Galway have won 3 and lost 3, with 2012 the only occasion that the Tribesmen had home advantage in Pearse Stadium. Tomorrow's final in O'Moore Park is the first time that a neutral venue has been used for a Walsh Cup final involving Galway.
