The Galway hurlers registered their third win in four games in Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League, when a strong second half showing say them easily defeat Kerry by 13 points in Austin Stack Park in Tralee. Joe Canning, making his first start for Galway since last year's All Ireland semi final, scored 0-9 for the winners, with Cathal Mannion scoring 0-5 from play and Padraig Brehony getting the games only goal just before half time. Galway led 1-7 to 0-7 at half time having played into a strong wind, but totally dominated the second half as Micheal Donoghue's side put Kerry to the sword in what was the first league meeting between the sides in 21 years.
