Galway GAA will Wait Until Saturday to Determine if Sunday's Hurling and Football Games Go Ahead

Statement from Galway GAA:

Galway GAA’s Competitions Control Committee (CCC) met this evening to discuss the impact of the weather forecast on championship fixtures scheduled for this Sunday, October 20th. Following consultation with clubs earlier today, it is agreed if the current orange weather warning is still in place at 3pm tomorrow  (Saturday),  the games will be postponed.
In this event, the Brooks Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Finals will be refixed for next Saturday, October 26th in Kenny Park Athenry with times to be confirmed. As a result, the County Hurling Final will then be fixed for Sunday, November 10th.
Revised fixture details for all the other Sunday games will be released in due course. Fixtures for Saturday, October 19th remain unchanged. We thank all parties and patrons for their patience and understanding in the circumstances.
