The Galway GAA Club hurling and football teams of the 90s will be announced on Over the Line next Monday night from 8pm to 10pm. The best fifteen players in both codes will be named, along with several honourable mentions as we continue our weekly look back at the club championships in Galway from the '60s up to the present day.
The senior hurling championship produced only 3 winners: Kiltormer (2), Sarsfields (4) and Athenry (4), with all three clubs going on to capture All Ireland club titles. In football, the '90s was the beginning of Corofin's dominance, with 5 county titles and a historic first ever All Ireland club title. Salthill, Monivea Abbey, Tuam Stars, An Cheathru Rua and Killererin also took a senior football title in the decade so all of the clubs involved will be confident of having players selected!
