Galway celebrates Women’s WDF Darts World Cup Win

History was made in Denmark recently when the Irish Women’s team won the WDF World Cup overcoming Wales in the final.

The team featured Galway County Team player Caroline Breen and was managed by another Galway man, Kevin Devaney from Lavally/Clonberne.

Ireland was involved in a tough group that featured Luxembourg, France, Mongolia and Norway before beating The Netherlands in the last 16, Australia in the Quarter Final and Sweden in the Semi-Final to set up a final against the Welsh.

Ireland won the final 9-7 with Aoife McCormack taking out the winning double.

John Mulligan spoke to Kevin about their win on Sunday Sport.
