Galway Under 20 Footballers are through to meet Roscommon in the Connacht Final on Saturday week following a 0-23 to 1-12 win over Sligo in McHale Park. Galway were in scintillating form in the opening half and scored an incredible 0-13 from thirteen shots at the posts in the opening 24 minutes. Sligo, who were going for three provincial titles in a row, scored the only goal of the game just before half-time but they were still well behind at 0-13 to 1-2 at the break. Galway stayed in control in the second half, with Sligo never getting any closer than within six points of their opponents and by the end Galway were comfortable winners.
