Seven fighters from the Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Gym fly out early tomorrow morning to the beautiful region of Tuscany in Central Italy to compete in the Unified World Martial Arts Championships.
The weigh ins are from 3pm tomorrow with eliminations starting on Friday morning.
The finals are scheduled for Sunday.
The Unified World Championships is the largest Martial Arts event on the planet, attracting thousands of competitors from some 120 countries Worldwide.
The Galway crew are:
Evelyn Coffey from Barna (Ladies-60kg)
Darren Van Strien from Westside (Youths under 18 -54kg)
Liam Tobin from Athenry formerly Knocknacarra (men’s -67kg)
Corey O’Malley from College Road (men’s -63.5kg)
Oisín Concannon from Barna (men’s -57kg)
Sean Murray from Clonboo (youths under 18 -71kg)
Kate Swayne from Headford Road (ladies -65kg)
They will be accompanied by chief coach Pete Foley from Annaghdown.
