Galway 2-18 Kildare 0-17
The Galway Senior Footballers opened 2025 with a challenge win over Kildare played in Newbridge on Saturday evening.
The new rules being implemented sometimes led to confusion among players and supporters but after some mistakes including getting caught out on the 3/3 rule which means that three players must be up at all times, Galway settled and seemed to make the most of the opportunities to score six 2-point scores from outside the 40m arc, four of them from Paul Conroy.
There were also two goals with both of them for Galway scored by Tomo Culhane and Matthew Tierney.
After the game, Galway manager Padraic Joyce spoke to the media including Jonathan Higgins.
Jonathan also got the thoughts of Galway's Shane Walsh
