GAA President Larry McCarthy was at the Connacht GAA Centre in Bekan on Sunday (12th December) to officially open the newly named NUI Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome.

The world's largest indoor sports dome will provide facilities for schools, clubs and counties. And will also host inter county action starting with the FBD Connacht League in January.
Padraic Joyce's Galway take on Mayo at the venue on Friday, 7th January.

Meanwhile, Connacht GAA CEO John Prenty has received an NUI Galway Alumni Award 2021 for his Contribution to Sport.
The Ballyhaunis native was in attendance at the Air Dome's official opening.
