FOOTBALL: Carna/Caiseal – Tour Chuig na Rosann, 320km Fundraising Cycle 1/2 June

Carna/Caiseal GAA are holding a 320km fundraising cycle this Thursday and Friday (1st/2nd June) in aid of their new GAA pitch and adjacent indoor Community Sports facility.

They are preparing to host the National Comortas Peile Na Gaeltachta for the first time in 2028 and nine former players will compete in the cycle.

Tour chuig na Rosann – 320 KM fundraising cycle Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd June 2023

In aid of New GAA pitch and adjacent indoor Community Sports facility in Carna

Carna Caiseal CLG are delighted to announce that the National Comortas Peile Na Gaetachta will be held for the very first time in Carna in 2028. It is a great honour for the club and the areas of Iorras Aithneach and Cashel to be hosting the competition.

As part of the first step of fundraising a group of cyclists from the area are undertaking a 320Km cycle ‘Tour to the Rosses – Carna Caiseal 2023’, from Carna pitch to Naomh Mhuire CLG in the Lower Rosses Donegal where the National Comortas for 2023 is taking place. The cycle will take 2 days from the 1st – 2nd June.

The group of 9 local cyclists are all former players and members of the club (John Casey, Michael Cloherty, Edward Kinnane, Paraic Corbett, Stiofan Curran, Sean Nee, Joe Joe Mac, Eamon Folan, Ciaran Murphy) have been training for the last 6 months to take on this very tough challenge.
