Dual Star Dayna Finn Makes Television Debut

Dual sports star Dayna Finn made her television debut
yesterday evening when she appeared on the Six O’ Clock Show. She was interviewed
by Muireann O’ Connell and Ray Foley about her meteoric rise through the ranks
of both basketball and gaelic football.

Vice captain for the u-20 Irish team that won bronze at the
u-20 European Basketball Championships in Kosovo this month, she has also
featured for the Mayo Ladies Senior Football team in their league and
championship campaigns this year.

Dayna plays her club basketball for Maree under the watchful
eye of coach Joe Shields. The all conquering team had an unprecedented perfect 2018/19
season in which their unbeaten run saw them gain promotion to Superleague. Along
with picking up MVP honours in the cup final & named player of the month
for January, Finn was also ultimately selected as Basketball Ireland’s Division
1 Young Player of the Year.

After a stellar campaign at the u-20 European Basketball Championships she will now be setting her sights on the next big challenge, the LGFA Senior Football Championship semi-final between Mayo and Galway on August 25th in Croke Park.
