Dave Heffernan to make 200th Connacht Appearance as Team Named to Take on Leinster in United Rugby Championship

Connacht hooker Dave Heffernan will make his 200th appearance for the province after head coach Pete Wilkins named the starting 15 for their BKT United Rugby Championship trip to Leinster on Friday (31st May 2024).

Heffernan becomes the eighth player to achieve that feat since making his debut 12 years ago.  Also, academy back three player Shane Mallon is handed his debut, while Santiago Cordero makes his first Connacht start at full-back.

A three-quarter line of Shane Jennings, David Hawkshaw, Cathal Forde and Shane Mallon;

Out-half Jack Carty partners scrum half Caolin Blade;

Peter Dooley, Dave Heffernan and Finlay Bealham are the front row;

Joe Joyce and Niall Murray are behind them;

While Cian Prendergast, Conor Oliver and Sean Jansen compete the back row.
