Cuman na mBunscoil Cross Country Results

The Allianz Cumann na mBunscoil annual Cross
Country took place last Friday in Renmore Park, Galway. 32 schools from all
over the city and county battled out on a heavy surface for medals and cross
country prestige.

First race up was the Junior girls race won by Isla Ní Dhealaigh of Gaelscoil Dara who used grit and determination to overcome her excellent rival Grace McGrath of Ballinderry National School. Grace and her teammates did collect enough points though to retain their Junior Girls team event title which completed a unique hat-trick of titles in this event.

Next up was the Junior Boys race which was won in impressive fashion by Kieran McDonagh who comfortably delivered the title for St. Michaels Boys Mervue with the team event going to Scoil Bhreandáin Naofa, Headford.

The Senior girls race was also won in impressive
fashion by the lightening quick Orla Mannion of Kiltiernan NS. Orla’s twin
brothers had won the Senior Boys title in 2017. The Senior Girls team title
went to Scoil Íde, Taylors Hill.

Last but not least, Enda Keane of Kilkerrin National School delivered the Senior Boys title to his North Galway school with an excellent run which capped an impressive double from the young man who had helped himself to the Junior title in 2018. The Senior Boys title went to Claran NS who impressively got their four runners in the first top 10.
