Connemara Golf Club's Luke O'Neill has been selected to play on the 4-man Irish team to compete in the European Nations Team Championship at the end of March in Spain. The defending champions will also be able to call on the experience of Matt McClean (Malone) after last year’s heroics in Spain. Fota Island teenager John Doyle will form part of the Irish quartet that travels to the European Nations Team Championship later this month. However, it will be a relatively new look outfit with 17-year-old former Irish Boys’ Close Champion John Doyle from Fota Island joined by reigning Bridgestone Men’s Tour winner Brian Doran (Millicent). Last year’s victory was Ireland’s first triumph in the European Nations Team Championship since 2016. The championship takes place over 72 holes, with four rounds of individual Stroke Play beginning on 26th March at Copa Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. Tuam's Damien Coyne has been named the Men's team captain.
