The rescheduled Connacht Finals of Scór na nÓg took place on Saturday, December 14th, at the Lecarrow Community Centre in County Roscommon. Initially planned for the previous weekend in Claremorris, the event was postponed due to Storm Darragh.
Clubs and competitors from across the province gathered in south Roscommon to compete for provincial titles and secure spots at the All-Ireland Finals in Monaghan at the end of January.
The competition was fierce, with exceptional performances across all categories.
In the Set Dancing category, Abbeyknockmoy from Galway delivered a show-stopping performance, triumphing over strong challenges from Roscommon, Leitrim, and Mayo clubs to claim their place at the All-Ireland Finals. The talented group consisted of Jack Gidea, Daisy Nolan, Hannah Walsh, Ava Loughnane, Ben McNama, Sean McDermott, Emmett Dooley, and Ruairi Concannon.
Galway’s success continued in the Instrumental Music category, with Claregalway emerging victorious. The group—comprising Orna McCormack, Emily Feery Quinn, Ashlynn O’Sullivan, Erin Finnerty, and Fionn Herwood—delighted the adjudicators and audience with their outstanding and harmonious performance.
The All-Ireland Finals are scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 25th, at the Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan.
