The Connacht Football Association Side who will contest the FAI Intermediate Inter League Cup next weekend in Donegal has been named with Seven Galway League players named. Athenry are represented by three players in TJ Forde, Colm O’Donovan and Ryan Shaughnessy. Mervue United are represented by Enda Curran and Peter Walsh, West United by Joe Collins and Salthill Devon by Shane O’Rourke. Ballinasloe Town also has two players in the Squad in Joe Woods and Des Hope.
There is a strong Galway connection in the management with the team joint managed by Gareth Gorman along with John Loftus of the Sligo/Leitrim League and coached by Peter Carpenter.
The Connacht FA will play their first game on Friday the 5th of October against the Leinster Senior League followed by games on the Saturday against The Ulster Senior League and on Sunday against the Munster Senior League.
