Clarinbridge Camogie and GAA Clubs officially launched their ambitious new development initiative, Pathway to 2030, on Sunday, 27th April, during a highly successful Community Club Day held at their grounds in Clarinbridge.
The event brought together hundreds of players, families and supporters to celebrate the vital role of Camogie and GAA in parish life and to look ahead to an exciting future for both clubs. The atmosphere on the day was a strong reflection of the unity, pride and passion that underpin the Clarinbridge community.
In attendance on the day were local public representatives TDs Albert Dolan, Hildegarde Naughton, and Noel Grealish, as well as local councillor Martina Kinnane. The clubs were also proud to welcome their inter-county stars with Niamh Niland, Carrie Dolan, Gavin Lee, Joshua Ryan, TJ Brennan, Sean Murphy, Aaron Niland and Evan Niland present to show their support. Adding further prestige to the occasion, Clarinbridge native and Galway Senior Hurling Manager Michael Donoghue was also in attendance.
Pathway to 2030 is a bold facilities development plan and fundraising initiative designed to deliver high-quality, equitable and sustainable infrastructure for future generations. Over the next five years, the clubs aim to raise €1.2 million through a combination of a community donation programme and sports and capital grants.
The phased development will include:
- A new astro turf training facility
- A ball wall for skill development
- Upgraded grass pitches
- A community walkway around the main pitch
- An expanded clubhouse featuring a modern gym, coffee shop, and spectator viewing area
- Multiple energy-efficiency upgrades
The vision for Pathway to 2030 will culminate in the construction of a new spectator stand by 2030, creating a lasting symbol of Clarinbridge’s commitment to sporting excellence and community spirit.
Speaking after the launch, Peter Boland, Chair of Clarinbridge Camogie Club, said: "Pathway to 2030 is about much more than facilities — it’s about building a future where every girl and boy in our community has the opportunity to grow, play and thrive. Sunday’s event showed just how much pride there is in Clarinbridge and we are excited to embark on this journey together with Clarinbridge GAA Club."
Donal Walsh, Chair of Clarinbridge GAA Club also reflected on the day’s success: "The turnout and enthusiasm at our Community Club Day was truly inspiring. Pathway to 2030 is a reflection of our collective ambition and with the backing of this wonderful community, we are confident we can create something that will serve all ages in Clarinbridge for generations to come."
