Companies in the West of Ireland are being invited to compete on 3 occasions in the forthcoming Inter-Firms Golfing Challenge created and hosted by Athenry Golf Club. If your company has a golf Society or even if you only have 4 golfing employees or former employees you can enter this inaugural exciting and highly competitive event.
The Challenge is open to teams of 6 with the 4 best Stableford scores to count on each of 3 days, playing with your opposition in a four-ball format. To add extra spice to the event any one or all of the 6 team members may be substituted by other employees. This gives a maximum golfing opportunity to up to 18 players over the 3 days. If your business is in the West, Mid-West or North West you can savour the lush verdant fairways of Athenry.
This novel Challenge is open to all business Sectors—Healthcare, Engineering, ICT, Finance, Agribusiness, Education and other Services. Additionally it can be fun to arrange internal competitions based on departmental or diverse professional grounds. Will QA live up to their title and beat Production or Engineering? Will the Bankers topple the Marketing Executives or will Medical Devices knock the socks off Pharmaceuticals? Can the Nurses whip the doctors? Will your Vendors compete successfully in your presence?
The par 70 course, excellently maintained by dedicated ground staff is one that challenges the scratch golfer and also pleases senior golfers into their 80s. It covers a colourful, gentle landscape of tree-lined fairways and beautiful greens.
On each occasion you can use our purpose-built Driving Range to warm up. Better still, have a golf lesson with our recently appointed PGA qualified Golfing Professional Sean Whelan, renowned in the West for his Teaching and Coaching prowess. One way or the other you will certainly enjoy the culinary delights of our excellent restaurant…sheer Ambrosia!
You could also use the occasion to have a business meeting or conference in the clubhouse or nearby hotels. Why not stay over for a night or two and take in 1 of the 8 festivals and events taking place in Galway including Galway Races Summer festival, Galway International Arts Week, Galway Heritage Week and Vodafone Comedy Carnival.
