Parkrun is a Health and well being organisation that has over 2,000 events taking place in many countries around the world. This number grows every week with new parkruns starting.
In Ireland there are over 100 parkruns taking place in every County in Ireland.
Parkrun now have eight runs taking place every weekend around Co. Galway. Six of the parkruns are 5Km walk/jog/runs that take place every Saturday morning at 9.30am for anyone over four years old.
The six Saturday parkruns take place in the following locations:
Knocknacarra - Cappagh Park, Oranmore - Renville Park, Oughterard, Portumna, Clonbur Woods, and Coole Park - Gort.
Last week we started "Walk at parkrun" in order to encourage people of all ages and ability to do a parkrun and start a new healthy habit of regular exercise.
The two 2km Junior parkruns for 4 to 14 year olds take place every Sunday morning at 9.30am in the following locations:
Oranmore - Renville Park, Westside Playing Pitches.
